DTN COMMENTS: Light trading is reported near midday in parts of the North 
with dressed sales $1-2 lower than last week's weighted average basis 
Nebraska. Yet activity in general remains quite slow with many feedlots 
trying to dig in with higher asking prices around 125+ in the South, and 
201-202 in the North. We expect more business to develop over the next 
several hours just because trade volume totals look inadequate.  

Beef cutouts are lower at midday (Choice 209.93 -1.44, Select 191.11 
-.41), with very light box movement (27.13 lds of choice cuts, 21.00 lds of 
select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 15.68 lds of ground). Cattle futures are 
significantly higher near the noon hour on light trade volume.
