View our Grain Policies...The Grain Division has federally licensed storage facilities in 12 locations in southwest Nebraska: Benkelman, Beverly, Culbertson, Enders, Grant, Hamlet, Imperial, McCook, Palisade, Perry, Venango and Wauneta. FVC also has four locations in the Panhandle at Chappell, Dix, Kimball and Lodgepole as well as three locations in the Wyoming; Burns, Lindbergh and Pine Bluffs. The total storage capacity is in excess of 36 million bushels. This includes 8.826 million bushels of concrete storage in Imperial of which 1.3 million bushels is owned by 40 farmers under a condominium storage agreement.
More than 25 trains of grain are shipped each year, accounting for nearly 4 million bushels. Most of the corn is shipped to feedlots in the South, while the majority of the wheat is shipped East or to the Pacific Northwest.
We own and maintain our own rail sidings in Benkelman, Imperial and Perry with the capacity to hold up to 150 rail cars. A 3,300 bushel hopper car can be loaded in 9 minutes and a 54 car train in 10 hours at Benkelman and Imperial.
